Hello all,
I have never worked on Fiori before, however I have been time and again asked about why Business Objects and not Fiori can be SAP's traditional reporting offering as it is mobile and has clean reports ? The suggestion is why create reports on BOBJ when a developer can write them on Fiori. Also cause maintaining the BOBJ servers, sizing , etc requires additional resources.
We have ECC on HANA.
Can someone please help me in getting that clarity as why Business Objects is and should be used as the core reporting tool and what role does Fiori have in it ?
And what Business Objects tool is Fiori comparable with ?
Some advantages on BOBJ that come to my mind are:
Can consume SAP HANA Live views.
Allows slice n dice/ drill downs ( I assume Fiori can let you do the same).
Can be downloaded into Excel.
Can have different sub sets of the same report by a power user
Can apply variables/ filters/conditions.
Can have additional BOBJ CMC security applied in addition to the abap auth and HANA layers.
Business Objects can handle multiple users for the same report which may have heavy data. ( I dont know why Firori wouldnt be able to do that)
Please enlighten me
And let me know if this needs to be moved into Business Objects section then I can move it there.
Thank you.
